Taking part in a Washington wine blending exercise with Madeline Puckette of Wine Folly was a great way to spend a late-February* afternoon. Thanks to our host Alex Shennum of BYOB Vintners and also to Madeline for the invite. With Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec from Almquist Family Vintners at our disposal, the three of us created our own unique blends and then, along with two guest palates, judged them to pick out a favorite. Who emerged victorious? And did the winner, upon learning of their triumph, respond humbly with grace? Or did sophomoric fist-pumping and taunting ensue? Find out in the video. All your questions will be answered! Such as:
- Why am I looking so glum?
- Is Madeline posing? Strutting? Dancing? All of the above?
- Couldn’t we have rounded up a hat for Alex?
- BYOB, DCBA, what does it all mean?
*Yes, this took me a shamefully long time to post.Tags: almquist family vintners, book bindery, byob vintners, wine folly
