Just as I love Fevre Chablis from top to bottom, I feel the same way about Laurent-Perrier’s lineup of Champagne. I dedicated the last month to L-P and I have no regrets. Stylistically, they got what I need: crisp and clean. Here are a few of my favorites:
L-P Brut Vintage 1997: Fresh as a daisy, crisp, clean, elegant. Textbook vintage Champers.
L-P Ultra Brut: I LOVE this stuff. Zero dosage, extrasuper crisp and clean. I love it icy cold and I dream of a never-ending parade of oysters coming to the table as I chug-a-lug.
L-P Grand Siecle: The top cuvee of L-P and a stunner. Truly elegant and regal; one to sip and savor. Fantastic food wine…was fantastic with steelhead with arugula pesto, roasted fingerlings, braised kale.
All good Champagne make fantastic food wines. Drink more Champagne in 2007! Obey!
