I adore the Hofer Gruner and Zweigelt in the one-liter bottle-cap topped package. The rosé, though in a meager 750ml screwcapped bottle, is a joy. Super-austere, pale, dry, and elegant. I have more thoughts in tomorrow’s post on the Foodista blog. Tune in!

So happy to see you’ve discovered rose Zweigelt. Definitely a treat and the Berger is a fantastic place to start because of it’s quality and the fact you get a whole liter at a time!
Have you had much experience with Austrian wines before? I’d definitely recommend testing out some other producers too – you’ll be surprised by the variation from region to region!
I have guzzled my fair share of Austrian Gruner and Riesling. I’ve had a few reds here and there and this is my first rose. I adore the whites! The reds have been pretty fun as well.
I am so in love with the one-liter bottle, especially when sealed with a crown cap.
Thanks for stopping by!
This is so crazy I was searching the internet in search of the distributor that I can’t recall from my QFC days because I have been wanting to get some of this amazing Zwigelt Rose’………..and there you were in my search. Do you recall the dist. as I would love to buy some!
Hope all is well with you!
How wonderful of you to find my blog, and looking for Hofer Zweigelt Rosé, no less! Cavatappi is the Seattle distributor; its a Terry Theise wine.
Hope to see you in Walla Walla or here in Seattle soon.
